It's a boy card

It's a boy card

Description

A white single fold card is covered with a sheet of decorative paper with the repeated message It's a Boy! This sheet covers the whole of the back and two-thirds of the front. A blue card cut-out teddy is mounted on the front with foam pads.

Materials used

  • Bright white single fold greetings card 144 mm (5½ in) square
  • Decorative paper from Paper Pizazz with blue It's a Boy words
  • Blue card teddy (from an accessory pack)
  • Card adhesive or double-sided self adhesive tape
  • Self-adhesive mini foam pads

Method

Lay a sheet of decorative blue paper face down on your work surface. Lay your opened greetings card over this and mark the size of the card with a fine pencil. Adjust the length of the paper so that when it is folded around the greetings card it will cover about two-thirds of the front. Cut the paper to size.

Mount the decorative paper on the card by applying a strip of card adhesive or double-sided self adhesive tape on the back of the greetings card alongside the folded edge.

Mount the card teddy in position with self-adhesive mini foam pads. This forms a bridge between the card and the decorative paper, holding it in place.

This design can of course be converted with 'It's a Girl' paper and a pink teddy.

Product availability

We regret that we are unable to advise the reader of a source of supply for the materials used in the projects on the Card Making Inspirations web site.

The layouts and techniques used in these projects are timeless. However, products such as stamps, stickers and patterned papers are quickly discontinued to be replaced by new items. When this happens we suggest that there is a lot of satisfaction in finding an alternative product that suits the design.
