Pansy card

Elegant Pansy card

Description

A textured ivory card has a pansy stamped and embossed in gold on a rectangle of cream card. The flower is coloured with brush pens giving a delicate water colour effect. This is mounted on a rectangle of dark red card and then on the greeting card. A gold border sticker and red ribbon complete the design.

Materials used

  • Textured ivory deckle edge single fold greetings card 150 mm x 203 mm (6 in x 8 in)
  • Dark red card 114 mm x 144 mm
  • Cream card 100 mm x 130 mm
  • Pansy stamp K774 by PSX
  • Gold inkpad
  • Gold embossing powder
  • Heat tool
  • Border sticker in gold
  • Tombow brush pens in pink, yellow and green
  • Red ribbon
  • Adhesive

Method

Stamp and emboss the pansy in gold on the cream card.

Colour the pansy with Tombow brush pens. You can use a small paint brush dipped in water to obtain the subtle washes. Use the pen where you want the dark colour and blend the colour out with a wet brush.

Mount the stamped cream card on the rectangle of red card with adhesive.

Mount the red card on the greeting card with adhesive.

Add a border sticker about 5 mm from the edge of the red card.

Pierce two holes in the spine of the card and thread the red ribbon through.
