Lily pad card

Description

A dark blue card is cut and folded to produce a centre square decorated with lily pads and flowers stamped on parchment. The surround is stamped with numerous tiny dragonflies in bright metallic colours.

Materials used

• Sheet of dark blue card 170mm x 146mm (6½ x 5¾ ins)
• Parchment paper
• Rubber stamp Stampendous! SWS013 Koi Pond Wood Set (Lily 1 of 4 stamps in set)
• Rubber stamp Hero Arts LL688 Kimono Silk (Dragonfly 1 of 6 stamps in set)
• VersaMark stamp pad
• Pearlex powder colours
• Silicone glue
• Craft knife

Method

Mark up the dark blue card lightly in pencil as shown on the diagram.

Cut with a craft knife and fold to form the three-panel card with a swivelling centre panel.

Approximate conversion of millimetres to inches:
30mm = 1¼ ins. 35mm = 1½ ins.
46mm = 1¾ ins. 65mm = 2½ ins.
75mm = 3 ins.    90mm = 3½ ins.

Stamp the dragonflies with the VersaMark pad and colour with Pearlex powder.

Stamp the lily three times on parchment paper using the VersaMark pad and colour with Pearlex powder.

Cut out two complete lily designs plus one extra flower.

Mount the lilies on the back of the swivelling panel using Silicone glue to give them 3D depth. The lilies show from the front when the panel swivels.
