How to make a beautiful silhouette tulip card with stencils

Silhouette Tulip Card

Description

A pearlescent pearl greetings card has a dark green rectangle containing a silhouette tulip design cut in pink paper. The green card is outlined with a gold border sticker. A gold Happy Birthday sticker completes the design.

Materials used

Sheet of pearlescent pearl card
Sheet of dark green card
Sheet of pink paper
Silhouette stencil tulip
Craft knife
Cutting mat
Metal edged ruler
Sticker gold chain border
Sticker gold Happy Birthday
Sticky dots adhesive
Card adhesive or double-sided self-adhesive tape

Method

Use the sheet of pearlescent pearl card to make a greetings card 110 x 210 mm (4¼ x 8 ins.).

Stencil Place the pink paper on the cutting mat. Place the silhouette stencil on top of the paper. Draw around the tulip design and the outside edges of the stencil in pencil. Remove the stencil and cut out the design free hand with a craft knife. Use a metal ruler for the straight edges. Remove the excess paper.

Mount the pink paper tulip design on the sheet of green card with Sticky dots adhesive.

Cut the dark green card to a rectangle with a border about 5 mm (¼ in.) larger than the rectangle of the pink tulip design.

Mount the design on the front of the greetings card with card adhesive or double-sided self-adhesive tape.

Add a gold border sticker around the edge of the rectangle of green card. It is actually the waste that is left behind when the chain border is removed.

Add a gold Happy Birthday sticker below the green rectangle.
