Stamped decoupage card

Description

A textured natural white deckle edge card has a gold stamped design on four layers of pink/red card. This is brought into 3D relief with decoupage techniques. Detail is picked out with crystal glitter and the design is outlined with a chain border sticker.

Materials used

  • Textured natural white deckle edge single fold greetings card 144mm x 144mm (5¾ in x 5¾ in)
  • Rubber stamp Medallions HH1003F by Holly Berry House
  • Tinted inkpad
  • Gold embossing powder
  • 4 sheets of card in different shades of pink/red
  • Pink Mulberry paper
  • Sticker No. 90 Chain border
  • Glue pen
  • Crystal glitter
  • Silicone glue or sticky fixers
  • Paper adhesive
  • Craft knife or scissors
  • Heat tool

Method


Cut a square of pink Mulberry paper 120mm x 120mm. Mount this on the front of the card with adhesive.

Outline the edge of the Mulberry paper with a chain border sticker.

Cut a square of dark red card 110mm x 110mm. Mount this on top of the Mulberry paper with adhesive.

Stamp and emboss the rubber stamp design in gold on four different sheets of pink/red paper. See the illustration at the top of the page for a guide to colours.

Pick out some of the shapes with a glue pen and sprinkle with glitter.

Cut out the design in four layers using a craft knife or scissors. Each layer has a smaller part of the design than the preceding one. See the illustration.

Mount the layers on the card using sticky fixers or blobs of silicone glue between the layers to bring them forward in 3D.
