This illustration shows the solid brass stencil MS-160 used for this card.

teabag paper

Create three sheets of "teabag" paper similar to the ones shown above by stencilling the appropriate parts of the sunflower. We used Markal paintsticks for this. The size of the larger sheets is approximately A5 - 148mm x 210mm (6 ins x 8.25 ins).

When the paper is completely dry cut it into 4 cm squares (1.6 ins). You will need eleven yellow squares for the sunflower head, eight green squares for the sunflower leaves/stem and one brown square for the sunflower centre.

Folding the flower head

Folding diagram

The flower head is made with eleven pieces of yellow teabag paper 4 cm square.

1. Fold the paper in half and unfold it. Fold the paper in half the other way and unfold it.

2. Fold three of the corners into the centre.

3. Fold lower corner to top middle.

4. Turn over. Add extra pieces.

5 Note the way they overlap. The last piece is tucked under the first piece. Fix together with adhesive.

Folding the flower head centre

Folding diagram

The flower head centre is made with brown teabag paper 4 cm square.

1. Fold the paper in half and unfold it. Fold the paper in half the other way and unfold it.

2. Fold the four corners into the centre.

3. Fold the four corners towards the centre. The fold comes at a quarter of the distance to the centre

4. The finished item.

Folding the leaves

The leaves are made with six pieces of green teabag paper 4 cm square.

Steps 1, 2 and 3 are the same as for the flower head (see the flower head section higher up the page).
